Montclair State Honors 9/11 Through Volunteering
Students, alumni join together to give back to the community during annual National Day of Service
Nearly 375 Montclair State volunteers gardened, picked up trash, painted and performed other acts of community outreach in the University’s annual National Day of Service that honors and remembers the victims, survivors and heroes of the 9/11 attacks.
“The 9/11 National Day of Service is a wonderful way for students to kick off the fall semester. It provides an opportunity for students to begin their year on a positive note by giving back to local communities through service and it reminds students of the sacrifice made by first responders back on that fateful that in 2001,” said Bryan Murdock, director of the Center for Community Engagement.
