The Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health (CAECMH) at Montclair State University offers specialized services for mental health promotion in schools. Districts in Essex and Passaic counties may contract with the CAECMH to work with individual students and their caregivers in the student’s school and at the Center for Clinical Services on the Montclair State University campus.
The clinical services offered through the CAECMH are rooted in the interdisciplinary field of infant and early childhood mental health and a developmental perspective on the spectrum of ability. More information on these topics may be found on Guiding Principles.
Clinical offerings include:
- Comprehensive assessments and evaluations
- Play-based individual, dyadic and/or family therapy
- Interventions for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum or with other developmental challenges
- Therapeutic groups for children and parents
