Dr. Mousumi Bose Receives Award from The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders
For “Dietary Assessment in Zellweger Spectrum Disorder” Research Project

Dr. Mousumi Bose, Assistant Professor in the Nutrition and Food Studies Department, recently received additional funding for the project “Dietary Assessment in Zellweger Spectrum Disorder” award from The Global Foundation for Peroxisomal Disorders. This award now totals $56,448.
The Board of Directors of the Global Foundations for Peroxisomal Disorders is excited to help support this research and looks forward to the results of her findings.
Recently, Dr. Bose co-authored a national report about the experiences of family caregivers from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, she participated in a congressional briefing where she shared data from the report to advocate for better caregiver support in the RAISE Act as well as the Build Back Better Act. Dr. Bose also spoke at a Rare Disease Day event at the Nasdaq building in New York City on February 28, 2022.
