Dr. Carolina Gonzalez named one of SUNY New Paltz’s 40 Under Forty

Dr. Carolina Gonzalez, Director of the Teacher Education Advocacy Center within the Center of Pedagogy, was recently named one of 40 Under Forty by her alma mater SUNY New Paltz. Honorees show passion and dedication and are leaders in their profession.
Dr. Gonzalez holds a PhD in Higher Education from Seton Hall University. She joined the Center of Pedagogy in 2015 to lead the recruitment and retention efforts of students interested in teacher education, especially those from historically underrepresented backgrounds. She recently worked at the NYC Department of Education, where she led the implementation of the Core Curriculum program and its digital platforms for nearly 1200 NYC public schools. Her experience in higher education encompasses academic advising, recruitment and retention, student development and programming.
She will be honored at a celebration on June 9th, 2017. The 40 finalists were chosen from a pool of 139 nominees with careers in education, the arts, science, technology, medicine, media, and government.
Dr. Gonzalez is part of the first group of honorees in SUNY New Paltz’s 40 Under Forty.
