On May 4, 2022, the College of Education and Human Services college meeting began with the announcement of our Distinction Award Recipients! Our community is dedicated to creating a healthier, better educated, just society and we are grateful to work with so many exceptional employees.
The following words from the award recipients’ nominees speak volumes about their dedication to work.
Dr. Kathleen Bauer, Professor in the Nutrition and Food Studies Department, has served the department for the past 39 years. During those times, she has contributed her talent to teaching, research, and growth of the program and the department, as well as serving as the director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics during initial program development and for the most recent years as the chair of the department. Dr. Bauer has always stepped up to help and her support and presence in the department are very encouraging for us all. Her devotion and dedication are much appreciated by colleagues and students.
Brenda Godbolt, Secretarial Assistant in Educational Foundations, has an incredible work ethic, commitment to her colleagues, and selfless dedication to our department, allowing Educational Foundations to achieve these wonderful things and fulfill its mission.
Melanie Shefchik, Instructional Specialist in Public Health, goes far above and beyond her job description, particularly when it comes to assisting students in their learning. She is actively engaged with public health work and not only brings those experiences to her teaching, but serves as a connector between students and public health professionals in the field to help her students expand their skills and find jobs after graduation and link both students, faculty, and staff to professional development opportunities.
Congratulations to all!
