The Teachers College Record recently published a review of the book, In Community of Inquiry with Ann Margaret Sharp: Philosophy and Education. The book, written by Dr. Maughn Rollins Gregory, Professor in the Educational Foundations Department and Director of the Institute for the Advancement of Philosophy for Children, and Dr. Megan Jane Laverty (Teachers College, Columbia University), explores how American philosopher of education Ann Margaret Sharp steered education into an engaged philosophy of practice utilizing the concept of “the community of inquiry.”
Reviewer Bruhanettin Keskin noted that reading the book proved that Sharp truly believed in the wisdom of children. Keskin positively described the book and highlighted the multiple sections, succinctly analyzing each. In conclusion, Keskin noted they underlined many passages for future emphasis, and stated “this book is definitely worth reading, and is informative as well as very enjoyable to read.”
