The Ebony Ball was held on February 25, 2022, in the University Hall 7th floor Conference Center to celebrate the conclusion of Black History Month 2022. The event was hosted by The Brotherhood Hermandad, a student organization whose mission is to support any service or program that will aid African American and Hispanic males in finding academic, professional and social success at Montclair State University. Several student awards were presented, including the Christopher Cottle Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is named for Mr. Christopher Cottle, Department Advisor for the Family Science and Human Development Department. This award is given to an undergraduate student who demonstrated an exceptional level of service and leadership during their time at Montclair State.
Although this award was established 3 years ago, this is the first year it has been presented due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year’s recipient is Ashon Lanada, who is also the Student Government Association President.
Danielle Epps, Director of Teacher Education Admissions, Recruitment, and Diversity of the Center of Pedagogy, and Imani Hill, Academic Advisor, were in attendance to show CEHS support!
