Dr. Amanda Baden Announced as APA Fellow
Posted in: College News and Events
Dr. Amanda Baden, Professor in the Counseling Department, was announced as an APA Fellow by the American Psychological Association. Fellow status is an honor and designation bestowed upon APA members who have made extraordinary contributions to the field. It is a lifetime designation and fellows represent the great work that APA members accomplish for the field and society at large.
Their contributions are viewed as having enriched or advanced Counseling Psychology well beyond the level that would normally be expected of a professional psychologist. Fellows are selected by peers on the basis of evidence of sustained performance that is recognizable at the national (rather than local or regional) level.
“It’s an honor to earn Fellow status in APA,” says Baden. “I am especially grateful that my work in the world of adoption including identity, transracial and international adoption, and clinical issues in adoption has been supported and endorsed by APA. Since joining APA as a graduate student in the mid 1990s, I have admired the Fellows in APA. I am humbled to be among them.”
Dr. Baden is part of APA Division 17: Society of Counseling Psychology.
