Dr. Eric Weiner Publishes Article “Radical Love in Times of Quarantine: Critical Lessons from a Zoom Classroom”
Posted in: College News and Events
Dr. Eric Weiner, Associate Professor in the Educational Foundations Department, recently published the article, “Radical Love in Times of Quarantine: Critical Lessons from a Zoom Classroom” in the Teachers College Record (TCRecord). In these times of dis-ease, xenophobic violence, and civil unrest, Dr. Weiner argues that critical educators should reassert the importance of what bell hooks (pseudonym of Gloria Jean Watkins, American scholar and activist) calls an “ethic of love” and Paulo Freire called a “pedagogy of love” into the praxis of teaching/learning.
The TCRecord is a journal of research, analysis, and commentary in the field of education. It has been published continuously since 1900 by Teachers College, Columbia University.
