An Antiracist Workshop for Elementary Teachers In 2022, New Jersey passed a law requiring public schools to teach AAPI history and culture as part of a concerted effort to reduce prejudice and promote belonging for AAPI people, culture, and communities.
The question remains, exactly how do teachers implement this new approach to teach AAPI history and contributions?
Join professors at Montclair State University and AAPI community leaders to learn how to identify and combat anti-Asian bias in classroom materials and how to bring AAPI history, culture, and people to life for elementary students.
Teachers will leave with practical resources, tools, and ideas on how to weave AAPI content into their current curriculum. Professional Development Hours awarded.
Presented in partnership with Teach Asian American Stories, an initiative of AAPI Montclair. Sponsored by the College of Education and Human Services and the ADP Center for Learning Technologies.
