Dr. Michael Hannon, Assistant Professor in the Counseling Department, was recently featured in the Winter 2022 edition of WayMaker Journal, which focuses on the strength of Black families. The article, “Why Good Mental Health Matters,” features a conversation with Dr. Hannon on the need to strengthen fatherhood and brotherhood in facing bias and barriers.
In 2020, Dr. Hannon was named Outstanding Faculty Member by JV Educational Consultants and spoke at the 3rd annual University of North Carolina (UNC) Autism Fathers Conference in April 2022. He is working on editing a new book of essays, “Black Fathering and Mental Health,” focusing on how Black men can attend to their mental health while growing their families.
