Dr. Jaime Grinberg Publishes Book
Posted in: College News and Events
Dr. Jaime Grinberg, Profesor in the Educational Foundations Department, recently published a book. In this third edition of Philosophy of Education: Modern and Contemporary Ideas at Play, Dr. Grinberg has joined with Maughn Rollins Gregory and Dorothy Rogers to provide a new and culturally inclusive collection of documents addressing multiple contexts, purposes, and methods of education. Alongside long-recognized philosophers of education, like John Dewey, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Paulo Freire, we see in this volume important but less well-known figures who were prominent in the African American, Native American, and Latinx traditions from the mid-nineteenth through the present. Available in both print and electronic formats, the collection features links to additional readings for selections not included in this new edition. It also provides suggested bibliographies and external links to additional resources for each philosopher. The volume will appeal to students and scholars alike for both classroom use and research.
Besides several introductions that each authored, Dr. Grinberg wrote a chapter entitled: “Reflections about Learning Communities and Teaching” (chapter 23), with an introduction written by Maya Levanon. She was a doctoral student here at Montclair State.
