Omar Lisojo ’22 Changed Career Path Due to Inspirational Teacher
Posted in: College News and Events
Omar Lisojo ’22 did not originally plan on becoming a teacher, but due to his interactions with his former teacher, Andres Diaz, his career path changed. Diaz is an English teacher at Morris Hills High School in Rockaway, New Jersey, and was recently named by Honored as the April 2022 teacher honoree.
Diaz’s story highlights how his inspirational teaching style changed Lisojo’s trajectory; Lisojo wants to follow his mentor in the classroom and is already a substitute teacher at Morris Hills High School, following the same path as Diaz. Lisojo worked with the Center of Pedagogy to change his pathways and strategies and is now ready to teach high school English.
We are so grateful for educators such as Dias and future educators like Lisojo.
