The Inaugural Build & Broaden Conference: Long-Term Impacts of Covid-19 on Latino Communities in the Tri-State Area
Immediate impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic show Latinos and other communities of color face the highest rates of contracting and succumbing to the virus. Living in early COVID-19 hotspots, Latino communities in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut face a distinct set of regional public health conditions. The Inaugural Build & Broaden Conference is a space for regional and national experts in Latino social science to gather, share, produce, and disseminate knowledge on how the current crisis has affected Latino communities and how it is modeling and transforming social life among Latinos in the tri-state area. Their aim is to document the intersecting needs, barriers, successes, opportunities, and priorities of Latino communities in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut at this crucial moment, as well as promote effective responses/policies that address these challenges.
