Jill Wodnick to Speak on Maternal Child Health at 2020 Mom Annual Forum

Jill Wodnick, Project Coordinator in the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health, will be a guest speaker at the 2020 Mom Annual Forum: A Virtual Conference and Networking Event.

Wodnick’s presentation is entitled, “Public Health 101: The Alphabet Soup of Maternal Child Health.” The description states: “If you have ever been confused about the role of federal initiatives in maternity care or simply want to learn more, attend this session to dive into acronyms, funding streams, Title V needs assessments, and community boards and advisory committees. Participants will walk away with a fundamental understanding of public health and tangible steps to serve as ambassadors to public health maternal health programs.”

2020 Mom, founded in 2011 as the California Maternal Mental Health Collaborative, has evolved as a national organization with a mission to close gaps in maternal mental health care.

Wodnick is a nationally-recognized expert on giving birth, being born, and breastfeeding. She specializes in compassionate childbirth education and innovative public health workshops. As a doula and childbirth educator, she focuses on health equity, respectful maternity care, and supporting the infant/parent relationship. She has been part of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women’s Global Prenatal Initiative as well as on local and statewide programs for improving maternity care.
