The College for Community Health Career and Internship Services team, located within the Student Success Center, hosted their first Community Health Expo on Thursday, November 2, 2023. The event was met with great enthusiasm and success from employers and students alike. One organization representative said, “We enjoyed being able to interact with individuals who have similar interests, whether it was representatives from the other organizations or the students who were passing through.”
The event provided students with an opportunity to meet and speak with employers from various community health organizations in the area. In total, 22 different organizations were represented, including the Department of Counseling and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Faculty and staff from both departments, the Student Success Center, and the Dean’s Office were also in attendance to discuss graduate program offerings and career opportunities that exist in the field.
When asked for feedback, one community health organization shared, “I enjoyed the opportunity to meet with potential interns and employees who may not know about our organization. It was also a great opportunity to meet with other vendors who we may be able to partner with in the future.”
The Community Health Expo welcomed 140 attendees which included Montclair students, alumni, and community members.
