Dr. Jonathan Caspi: Therapy is Going Viral

Dr. Jonathan Caspi, Professor in the Family Science and Human Development Department, is quoted in this Morning Brew article about how therapy is going “viral” on TikTok and Instagram.
Dr. Caspi noted how information on the app is not complete and should not be fully relied upon. He stated, “You can kind of cherry-pick information, and not necessarily in helpful ways. And if you’re somebody who’s not particularly discerning, you might watch one or two videos and feel like you’re an expert, or that you’ve got it, that you can diagnose yourself or your kids or your relationship.”
