Dr. Maria Cioè-Peña Receives Award from the Division of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Exceptional Learners

Dr. Maria Cioè-Peña, Assistant Professor in the Educational Foundations Department, recently received an award from the Division of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Exceptional Learners of the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC) for her paper, “Wanting to Leave; Needing to Stay: Issues for Undocumented Mothers of Children with Disabilities.” Her paper won the inaugural and 2022 DDEL Publications Award for her exceptional contribution to the Multiple Voices Journal. The CEC is the largest international professional organization dedicated to Special Education.
