Experts like epidemiologist Dr. Stephanie Silvera, Professor in the Public Health Department, are advising people to be cautious as we head into the colder months when indoor activities bring a higher risk “not just for COVID, but also for flu, and so we need to encourage people to get both their COVID vaccine as well as their flu vaccine.”
Dr. Silvera noted, “The good news is, while we saw an increase in the number of cases towards the end of the summer, July and August, we are actually seeing a decrease in the number of new cases each day, which is very different than what we saw last year.”
