Have you considered a career helping people with speech-language and hearing related communication disorders? A career in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology can be a rewarding option for students who want to work with people of all ages in schools, hospitals, clinics, private practice, and home health.
Montclair State students are encouraged to contact Ms. Fran Prezant, instructional specialist and minor advisor, to discuss career prospects and the benefits of selecting a minor in the field. Ms. Prezant is a licensed and nationally certified speech language pathologist.
For students who are interested in pursuing a graduate degree, Ms. Deborah Verderosa is available to discuss the competition for a spot in Montclair State’s Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology graduate programs. Ms. Verderosa is the graduate advisor for both the Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology programs.
Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Minor
Montclair State offers a Minor in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. The minor is designed to familiarize students with speech, language, hearing and communication disorders. It also provides valuable background for many career paths, such as Psychology, Biology (or any of the biological or physical sciences), Linguistics, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Teaching, Behavioral Therapy or Special Education.
