Second Floor

Second Floor Fitness

  • Proper athletic attire, as defined in our policies which can be found here, Protect Your Skin at the Gym, must be work in all of the activity areas located on the First and Second Floors of the Student Recreation Center.
  • Fitness instruction services of any kind that are not provided by certified Campus Recreation Personal Trainers are strictly prohibited.
  • All patrons must carry a towel when working out in fitness areas.
  • Please wipe down machines after each use with the provided equipment towel and solution.
  • Return all weights to designated areas after each use.
  • Limit cardio equipment use in order to accommodate other patrons.
  • All coats and bags should be placed in lockers or provided cubbies in fitness areas.
  • No dropping or slamming weights.
  • Montclair State Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Failure to comply with the above policies could result in immediate removal from the Student Recreation Center and/or a loss of membership privileges.

Track

  • Proper footwear required on the track. Non-marking, non-cleated, rubber athletic shoes only.
  • Fitness instruction services of any kind that are not provided by certified Campus Recreation Personal Trainers are strictly prohibited.
  • For your safety and the safety of others, sprinting on the track is strictly prohibited.
  • Track flow pattern is as follows:
    • Monday – Wednesday – Friday (Clockwise)
    • Tuesday – Thursday – Saturday/Sunday (Counterclockwise)
  • Lane Assignments are as follows:
    • Inside Lane: Walking
    • Outer Two Lanes: Jogging
  • Absolutely no spitting while jogging/walking on the track.
  • Stretching should take place in designated stretching areas and is prohibited on the track.
  • Please do not stop/stand on the track.
  • Track Distance:
    • 14 Inside Laps = 1 Mile
    • 13 Middle Laps = 1 Mile
    • 12 Outside Laps = 1 Mile
  • All patrons must wear hand wraps or boxing gloves while using boxing bags.
  • Failure to comply with the above policies could result in immediate removal from the Student Recreation Center and/or a loss of membership privileges.

Multipurpose Rooms

  • All patrons must utilize towels provided.
  • All personal belongings must be placed in cubby before class activity commences.
  • Non-marking shoes only.
  • Use of all equipment is restricted to scheduled activities.
  • Personal use of multipurpose rooms is prohibited without proper reservations.
