Understanding neutron stars using gravitational waves
Prof. Shaon Ghosh, Montclair State University
Binary neutron stars collisions are a key source for LIGO, with the first such event detected in gravitational waves and light on August 17th, 2017. Careful analysis of the gravitational wave and electromagnetic signals from these events can improve our understanding of the composition of neutron stars. Prof. Ghosh will give a brief overview of his work in this area.
