This fully staged operatic double bill features two rarely-performed short masterworks from the Italian repertory: Handel’s pasticcio Lungi da te (Far from You) and Donizetti’s one-act farce Il giovedì grasso (Fat Thursday).
Presented in collaboration with MSU’s Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America, EROTIC MADNESS! explores the tragicomic consequences of infatuation as only the greatest composers of the Italian operatic tradition can.
