The Management Information Systems concentration prepares graduates to bridge the gap between the problems of business and the capabilities of information technology. Our program helps students develop the skills needed to improve business performance with the strategic implementation of technology within an organization. A balanced curriculum that concentrates on relevant managerial and technical issues is supported by a combination of case projects, field experience, professional speakers and other experiential opportunities.

Information technology managers are the guides who help organizations navigate the always-changing maze that is modern technology. They create strategies for a company’s long and short-term technology needs and goals, plan upgrades of existing software or hardware and negotiate with vendors. IT managers also install and protect computer systems and networks from hackers and malware. The need for computer and information technology managers, analysts, architects and administrators has risen rapidly in recent years and is expected to continue to increase through the next decade.
