Feliciano Students Excel at National Sales Challenge
Posted in: Marketing
Feliciano School of Business students Colleen Sullivan (Business Relationships & Professional Selling Minor) and Peyton Kinney (Marketing) proudly represented the Feliciano School of Business at the 2024 National Sales Challenge, the premier collegiate sales competition hosted annually by the Russ Berrie Institute of Professional Sales at William Paterson University. This prestigious event draws top students from national and international universities to compete, showcasing their selling skills to business executives who serve as judges, recruiters, and mentors.
The competition challenges students in two key events: speed selling, where participants have just two minutes to pitch why they should be hired, and role plays, where they engage in 15-minute simulated sales meetings with buyers from ORS Nasco, this year’s case company. In these role plays Colleen and Peyton demonstrated their expertise in building rapport, uncovering client needs, crafting value propositions, handling objections, and closing deals.
Accompanying them to the competition was Dr. Devon Johnson, professor in the department of Marketing, who manages the Sales Minor and Certificate programs, equipping students with the skills needed to succeed in competitive environments like this. Beyond the competition, the event doubles as a job fair where students network with recruiters and explore career opportunities.
