Biology Professor Funded To Study Amphibians in New Jersey
Dr. Lisa Hazard has been awarded a grant of $18,919 from the New Jersey Water Resources Research Institute at Rutgers University
Posted in: Our Research
This funding will be used to pursue research evaluating the sensitivity of several New Jersey amphibian species to contamination of aquatic habitats by road deicers.
Through a conservation physiology approach water quality will be evaluated. This will be paired with observations of behavioral and physiological responses of adult amphibians to elevated levels of road deicers. The final component will consist of ecological monitoring of breeding attempts by amphibians in contaminated habitats.
This is a one year grant that will begin in March.
