Arts Voyage exposes children in grades 3 through 12, including those at-risk or with special needs, to the experiences of live theatre and interactive workshops in theatre, dance, music and the visual arts, discovering the arts as a means toward understanding their world. Events are free of charge and often include transportation and lunch.
Arts Voyage has successfully helped children discover their creative selves and develop skills in critical thinking, conflict resolution, leadership, and collaboration. Those who complete the program leave with a greater sense of self-confidence and validation. Arts Voyage Events are available to school and community groups.
Arts Voyage reaches out especially to those who would benefit from the program but who cannot afford the cost of admission and transportation. Administrators, teachers, and other advocates of pre-college students wanting to develop a tailored program or participate in a scheduled program may request an Arts Voyage application by contacting Marie Sparks, OECO Director, at 973-655-7070, or by printing the Arts Voyage Application.
Arts Voyage is made possible in part by FLEET, PNC Bank, the Independence Community Foundation, the Junior League of Montclair/Newark, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
All programs take place on the Montclair State University campus, are free of charge, and open to the general public unless otherwise noted.
