Aaron Helgeson Receives Benjamin H. Danks Award

Aaron Helgeson, Associate Professor in the Cali School of Music, recently received the Benjamin H. Danks award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, which recognizes exceptional talent and dedication to the craft of music composition.

He specializes in composition and music theory, and uses transcription, adaptation, and collage to mix contemporary sounds with historical sources like wax cylinders, medieval psalms, and unfinished manuscripts.
