About Cali Pathways Project

Since its inception in 2021, the John J. Cali School of Music’s Cali Pathways Project has strived to create dynamic and comprehensive pathways to higher education and careers in music for talented student musicians from underrepresented backgrounds by assisting them in breaking down the barriers that may otherwise preclude them from achieving their full musical potential. Among the many ways in which the Pathways Project seeks to assist such students is by helping those who show passion and accomplishment while exhibiting financial need with offsetting some or all of their tuition costs.

NAME-A-SEAT is a new initiative that gives School of Music patrons a meaningful and affordable way to support CALI PATHWAYS and leave their mark by naming one or more of the 180 permanent seats in the Leshowitz Recital Hall. With a gift of $2,000 or more, you can have an engraved plaque placed on one of the Recital Hall seats to be cherished for years to come.

Celebrate a loved one, honor an arts lover, or give a gift to the person who has everything with a seat donation that leaves a legacy.

These seats have never been available for naming, so now is your chance!

Seat sponsorship will generate funds for immediate use to support the CALI PATHWAYS PROJECT.

Act now to NAME-A-SEAT in the spotlight and enjoy having your name, a sentiment, anniversary date, or the name of another person you wish to honor laser-engraved on an elegant plaque placed on the seat back of a theatre seat.

The engraved inscription ensures that you or your loved one will be a visible part of this dynamic theatre for years to come.

Please note:  We have the right to reject any seat name where the proposed text for the engraved plaque contains unacceptable language or does not adhere to University or School standards.

Seat naming opportunities start at $2,000 and are fully tax-deductible.

Seat Pricing

$2,000 per seat
$3,500 for 2 seats

Be serious or poetic, sentimental or clever. You can dedicate a seat:

• As an individual, couple, or family
• For your children, grandchildren, or parents
• In memory of a loved one
• With the name of your business or organization

Engraving allows up to three lines with a maximum of 20 characters (including spaces) per line.

Please note: 
Event seating is not guaranteed in chairs bearing specific names.
