Montclair students begin artistic collaboration with students in Chile

Posted in: Department of Theatre and Dance News

Montclair BFA Acting Students begin as Santiago-bound ensemble.

Led by Professors Heather Benton and Debbie Saivetz from the Department of Theatre and Dance, BFA Acting students are embarking upon an adventurous Pan-American artistic collaboration with students and faculty from the Universidad Mayor in Santiago, Chile.

The two groups of students, connecting online, will develop a new bilingual work of theatre generated by improvisation and a rigorous collective writing process this fall.

Using innovating new forms of theatre craft, these students will delve deeply into the enriching practice of cultural exchange.

In spring of 2018, the intrepid Montclair theatre students will meet their Chilean counterparts in Santiago to perform together, students from two countries yet united as one company.
