Following an extraordinary start to the 2015-16 season, the John J. Cali School of Music continues to present a roster of engaging events filled with student, faculty and guest artist performances this spring.

February showcases the talents of the MSU Wind Symphony who will be joined by the Montgomery High School Wind Ensemble, considered one of the best high-school bands in New Jersey. Later in the month, The Baroque Ensemble will also give a free concert on February 21st to celebrate the distinctive and rich music of the Baroque period.

March commences with pianists Ron Levy and Michael Caldwell performing Music for Two Pianos, playing works by Kevin Cummines, Camila Agosto, Adam Kennaugh and Ting Ho. April presents an array of student performances by the MSU Symphony Orchestra, MSU Singers, MSU Chorale, featuring classics from Brahms, Beethoven, Leonard Bernstein and more.  

The New Music Ensemble will perform an afternoon of music which includes the unique work of Frank Zappa on Sunday, April 10 at 2 p.m., and the MSU Jazz Ensemble will present a cool midday performance of original and classic works on April 24th at 3 p.m. The MSU Opera and the MSU Symphony will bring April to a close with a collaboration including the MSU Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America, with performances of a dynamic pair of Italian operatic masterworks on April 30th and May 1st.

Throughout the semester, Wednesday at One series present free weekly concerts or lectures by students, faculty, guest artists and scholars, and welcome all members of the MSU community. Other recitals that run through the year are the Graduate, Senior, and Artist Diploma recitals which are a tremendous opportunity to see students perform in an intimate setting.
