Designed for College-Bound Students for Fall 2015

Focusing on the rigors of the college audition process, The Department of Theatre and Dance introduces a new college-prep workshop for Fall 2015 which will prepare college-bound high school students for academic and professional acting and musical theatre auditions.  The Fall Audition Intensive aims to ease the anxieties of auditioning through preparation and practice, where students will learn the tools to bring their best foot forward for getting into their program of choice.

Studying with seasoned professionals and faculty, students will learn the do’s and don’ts of auditioning, acquire practical tips, and understand valuable strategies to present a confident and polished performance.  Each student will develop a fully prepared audition monologue hand-picked to showcase his or her strengths and talents.

The 2-day workshop will take place on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th, 2015, for a full day of instruction from 9am to 3pm on the Montclair State University Campus, Life Hall Building, Department of Theatre and Dance.  There is no audition required, only an interview and photo.  The cost of the weekend-long intensive is $150.

Applications for interviews are now being accepted for limited spots.  To reserve an interview slot for Saturday, Sept 12 from 10am to 1pm, or for any questions, contact Prof. Susan Kerner at kerners@mail.montclair.edu.
