Music and Musical Theatre Students Present “The Klemperers’ New Clothes”

Students in Montclair State University’s Musical Theatre program, accompanied by students from the John J. Cali School of Music, present the musical The Klemperers’ New Clothes September 26 and 27 in Memorial Auditorium. Admission is free.

A new musical for theatregoers of all ages, The Klemperers’ New Clothes is loosely adapted from The Emperor’s New Clothes by Norman Weiss and William Squire. Weiss and Squire created The Klemperers’ New Clothes at the prestigious BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. Musical direction is by Prof. Gregory J. Dlugos, and direction and musical staging is by Asst. Prof. Joe Joyce.

There are only three performances scheduled: one on Friday, September 26 , at 7:30 p.m., and two on Saturday, September 27, at 2 and again at 8 p.m. in Montclair State University’s Memorial Auditorium.

The performances are sponsored by the College of the Arts’ Department of Theatre and Dance’s Musical Theatre program.
