Mark Effron Comments on Cable Host Departures with News 12 New Jersey

Mark Effron, NewsLab Coordinator in the School of Communication and Media, spoke with News 12 New Jersey about what the departures of cable news hosts Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon will mean moving forward.

Mark Effron is a clinical specialist in the School of Communication and Media, where he teaches as well as coordinates the multi-platform newsroom in the new state-of-the-art headquarters for the school. Before that, Mark was an adjunct at Montclair State as well as a full time faculty at William Paterson University. For most of Mark’s career, he was a news executive for such companies as MSNBC, where he ran breaking news and daytime programming, Post-Newsweek Stations, where he ran the news division, New York Public Radio, where he served as General Manager of “The Takeaway,” and Tribune’s WPIX, where he was vice-president of news. He also ran a Webby-award-winning digital media company
