Montclair State’s Department of Theatre and Dance presents “Urinetown”

The Department of Theatre and Dance is producing the Broadway musical Urinetown with music and lyrics by Mark Hollman and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis. This show will run for seven performances beginning Friday, October 18 at Memorial Auditorium on the Montclair State University campus.
This season-opening musical, a hilarious comedy, imagines a corporate-dominated society where everyone must pay hefty fees to pee. The show debuted at the New York Fringe Festival before transferring to Broadway and winning three Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Musical Score in 2001.
Montclair State’s show features about 30 students and is directed by John Housley, adjunct professor, Theatre and Dance. Choreography is by John Leggio, adjunct professor, with music direction by Gregory J. Dlugos, clinical specialist, Theatre and Dance.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18; 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19; and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, Thursday, Oct. 24 and Friday, Oct. 25; with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20.
Tickets are $15; free to Montclair State students with ID.
