Artwork by student Ruth Borgenicht, in the MFA Studio Art Program in the Department of Art & Design, has recently been acquired by the Ariana Museum in Geneva, Switzerland. Her piece Kimono Vase explores the capacities of malleable ceramics within form and structure. The Ariana Museum is devoted to ceramic and glass artwork, containing 20,000 objects from the last 1,200 years. Kimono Vase was also exhibited at 14th Parcours Céramique Carougeois: International Biennial of Contemporary Ceramics in Carouge, Switzerland.
Ruth Borgenicht will also be exhibiting work in the MFA Gallery in Finley Hall from October 5th through the 11th, 2015. Her installation explores themes within relational aesthetics, where the artist invites viewers to eat and interact together, intersecting food, art, commerce, and community.
