Fashion Exhibition

The Department of Art and Design is excited to welcome students back to campus with the Fashion Exhibition. Students’ work will be on view at the Finley Gallery from September 4th through September 18th, with the opening reception on Wednesday, September 4th, from 12:30-2:30 pm.

This first art exhibition of the Fall 2024 semester at Finley Gallery, showcases original design illustrations, digital presentation layouts, and garment examples from Flat pattern and Draping courses in the Fashion Design and Merchandising (FADM) program.

Fashion design students design, create, and develop 2D original visuals that can become 3D professionally executed looks. The students develop original illustrations to demonstrate their extensive design knowledge by using programs Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop alongside traditional illustration and rendering techniques by hand.

Each selected work showcases the creative journey in fashion design—from initial concept and sketch to illustration, brand development, and garment construction. Students’ pieces highlight their emerging talent and potential as the future of the fashion industry.
