9th Annual Fashion Show “J’adore Noir” on May 4th

Posted in: Announcements

"J'adore Noir" is the theme for this year's 9th Annual Fashion show which showcases student talent from the Fashion Studies program.

Montclair State University’s Fashion Studies students will showcase their impressive design skills at the 9th Annual Fashion Show, at the Alexander Kasser Theatre, May 4th, at 7:00 p.m. The show is inspired by the juxtaposition of edgy and sweet style to create the innovative theme, J’adore Noir.

This student-produced show production will benefit the future of Montclair State University’s Fashion Studies Program by providing scholarships for student designers to help support their undergraduate educations and aid them as they pursue careers in fashion.

This year’s host, model Giselle Peppers, has appeared in fashion magazines and music videos featured worldwide on MTV and YouTube. Entertainer & fashion entrepreneur, Heny, will perform his crowd-pleasing music hits. The judging panel is comprised of fashion professionals including local fashion blogger Melenigma, Senior VP of HR & Montclair State alumna, Jennifer Cale from The Sak, and vintage clothing expert, Johnny Petrozzino of Speakeasy Vintage in Montclair.

Generous door prizes and goodie bags have been donated from local boutiques and businesses, as well as larger fashion companies such as The Sak, Avenue, and more. Support from the fashion community has helped fundraise for scholarships, and makes it possible to support the emerging fashion designers and entrepreneurs at Montclair State.

The Fashion Studies program has flourished by granting students access to essential resources needed to develop a vast array of design and merchandising skills. The program has also seen a significant rise in enrollment in recent years, and looks forward to offering students a diversified list of courses to meet the demands of the ever-evolving fashion industry.

Tickets for J’adore Noir can be purchased at the door for cash only. Tickets are $5 Montclair State Students, and $7 for the public.
