Rocky

Have you seen our newest projects on IMPACT Montclair State? Three new projects have recently launched including Rocky’s 18th Birthday, the EOF Book Fund and Boo to You, supporting the WMSC Excellence in Radio Scholarship.

Through IMPACT Montclair State, you can also support a campaign, team or fund that means the most to you and your Montclair State experience. Whether you were a student athlete or want to support the Red Hawk Pantry, there are several ways to make an impact.

We invite you to read about our newest projects!

Rocky’s 18th Birthday

Rocky the Red Hawk has a big birthday this year and wants to celebrate!

Team Rocky does a great deal for Montclair State University. Rocky represents all Red Hawks, and Team Rocky is made up of individuals just as diverse as our student body. Together they spread so much joy, with Rocky, and as themselves, embodying the true essence of what it means to be a proud Red Hawk. We need you to help Team Rocky grow.

Please consider helping Team Rocky reach their goal of $1,800 in honor of his 18th birthday! Your support will make it possible for Rocky to spread Red Hawk pride both on and off-campus, and will be the best birthday gift Rocky could ever receive!

The EOF Book Fund

The EOF book fund provides scholarships for highly motivated low income scholars to purchase/rent books for their courses. The average cost of books per semester can range from $200-$600 and continues to rise.

In the past 50 years, EOF has been established on over 55 campuses in the state of New Jersey and sets the pace for many initiatives which today are widely incorporated into college life. Among the many powerful strategies implemented by EOF are pre-college articulation, basic skills testing and remediation, systematic retention efforts, peer counseling and peer tutoring, academic support courses, multicultural curricula and human relations programming, student leadership development and outcomes-based program evaluation.

Today, the EOF program at Montclair State serves low-income, highly motivated first-generation students who have demonstrated commitment, motivation, and potential for success in every county of the state.

Please consider supporting this campaign and helping the EOF program reach their goal of $2,500! To donate and learn more about this project, click here.

WMSC Excellence in Radio Scholarship 2019

90.3 WMSC FM is an alternative rock and talk college radio station owned by Montclair State University, largely operated by university students and supported by the School of Communication and Media.

There are currently 18 student directors who oversee the station’s operation in the areas of news, sports, music, production, promotions, ticket giveaways, website, social media, engineering, morning show production and office manager. The station currently has over 45 disc-jockeys on air, almost 70 contributors and over 500 general members, all volunteers.

Students who participate at WMSC have, as a result, obtained internships at commercial stations such as WDHA, 101.5FM, WCBS, iHeartRadio and SiriusXM among others.

The “Boo to You” fundraising campaign seeks to acknowledge and reward the work of undergraduate students working at the radio station who embody the hard work and spirit of Excellence in Radio.

Please consider supporting this campaign and helping the WMSC radio station reach their goal of $1,500! To donate and learn more about this project, click here.
