Meet “Phil”, short for Philanthropy. He’s here to remind faculty and staff about the importance of giving to Montclair State — even a little change can make a big impact! We are inviting all faculty and staff to pick up a little “Phil” and keep him on your desk. Loose change? “Phil” the pig! Find a dollar in your coat pocket? “Phil” the pig!
Want to “Phil” the Pig? Come pick up your little “Phil” at the following locations:
- Overlook Corporate Center – 3rd Floor (M – Th, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
- Webster Hall – Room 100 (M – Th, 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
Every cent and dollar collected will go to the Emergency Book Fund. We all know that students need the proper tools to succeed in the classroom and that school supplies can be very costly. Open to all students, the fund provides assistance for those who would otherwise be unable to purchase needed textbooks due to financial hardship.

If you still have your pig, you can return it on or before June 30 to count towards our fiscal year end goals, or on or before September 30, as we kick off the next academic year. Take “Phil” with you to meetings, dress him up and share photos of him on social media. Be sure to tag us and use the hashtag #PhilthePigMSU!
