Red Hawk Callers Ring Again

Don’t be surprised if you get a phone call soon from a Red Hawk Caller! These hard-working students make more than 210,000 calls a year to alumni, parents and friends, seeking vitally-needed support for Montclair State’s programs and services.

The Fund for Montclair State directly provides students with what they need for a first-rate education: scholarships for bright and talented students; a quality library; new program development; research projects; classroom, laboratory, and other campus facility improvements and enhancements; and many other initiatives. Gifts can be designated to a specific program or academic department.

Director of Annual Giving Nick Bellucci oversees the Red Hawk Callers and stresses the importance of gifts to the University: “Annual gifts to Montclair State University have a significant impact on our students, faculty and programs,” he says. “Without the help of our generous alumni, many of these deserving students would be unable to realize their dream of a Montclair State education.”

The work that the Red Hawk Callers perform not only benefits the University, but also lets them learn from alumni about what Montclair State was like in years gone by, and gives them a glimpse into life after graduation. Through daily communications with alumni, the students learn what their futures might hold, while also letting graduates know what’s currently happening at Montclair State. 

“Being a Red Hawk Caller has given me the opportunity to learn about Montclair State’s rich history from our wonderful alumni,” says biology major Joseph Ambrose ’18. “Not only do I learn about the past, I also play a role in the future development of our campus. Without the generous support from alumni, Montclair State would not be the university it is today.”
