Undergraduate Programs
BS in Sustainability Science
The Sustainability Science program is housed in the Department of Earth and Environmental Studies, but takes advantage of expertise across campus including the College of Science and Mathematics, College of Humanities and Social Science, School of Business, and the PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies.
BS in Sustainability Science (Combined BS/MS)
With one additional year of study you can earn both your BS and MS degrees. Students take 12 credits of graduate-level coursework in the senior “swing year,” which are applied to both the BS and MS degrees. These credits are billed at undergraduate tuition rate, a savings of over $250 per credit! The 5th year focuses on either a research-based thesis or an applied internship project.

MS in Sustainability Science
The graduate program in Sustainability Science prepares students for careers in government, industry, non-profit organizations and non-governmental organizations.

MS in Sustainability Science, Sustainability Leadership Concentration
In this 32-credit online master’s degree program, students pursue advanced training in sustainability science, while simultaneously developing valued business skills. Graduates of the program will be prepared to take on leadership roles where they will integrate their business expertise with knowledge of science and technology and a passion for sustainability. As a Professional Science Master’s, an applied internship or capstone project provides learning in real-world environments.
Environmental Forensics Certificate Program
This 15-credit certificate program is designed for environmental professionals seeking to augment their laboratory analytical skills and environmental remediation knowledge.
Geographic Information Science Certificate Program
The 10-13 credit certificate program prepares professionals to enter the field of GIS or become more proficient with these tools. Coursework reinforces digital mapping skills, spatial analysis, and applications of GIS and remote sensing to diverse fields such as environmental science and public health.
Water Resource Management Certificate Program
This 13-credit certificate program is designed for environmental professionals interested in water resource management, sources of contamination and remediation of surface water and groundwater, and hydrologic modeling.
