Profile
Dr. Daniela Peterka-Benton is the Director of the Global Center on Human Trafficking at Montclair State University and an Associate Professor in the Department of Justice Studies. Her primary areas of research are online mis- and disinformation in the context of far-right narratives and conspiracies, with a special focus on the cooptation of human trafficking by the far right. Dr. Peterka-Benton teaches courses, including Human Trafficking, Intro to International Justice, and Research in Justice Studies, and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal for Deradicalization, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, and Anti-Trafficking Review. Before focusing on a full-time academic career, Daniela Peterka-Benton worked for the U.S. State Department's Office of Diplomatic Security at the U.S. Embassy in Vienna, Austria.
