Dr. Park is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Public Health in the College for Community Health at Montclair State University.
Dr. Park's academic research and interests have been centered upon understanding the multiple factors that influence population health. Her graduate work provided a rigorous theoretical foundation upon which she understands and approaches complicated social epidemiological problems. She specifically focused on improving the connection between the construct and measurement of social capital in health research and analysis. Her areas of interest also include social cohesion, sense of belonging, measurement, health equity and health justice, systems thinking, social financing, development, North Korean refugees, and global governance.
Dr. Park is also passionate about teaching as research. She is committed to building a learning community as an inclusive educator. She incorporates Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in her teaching as much as possible and produces studies that improve teaching.
Dr. Park received her PhD in Development Studies and MS in Population Health Sciences with an Epidemiology Option from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also holds an MIS with a focus on Development Cooperation, a BA in International Studies, and a BA in NGO Studies from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea.
