Profile

Christine McGoey is a Faculty Developer with the Office for Faculty Advancement and an Adjunct Instructor at Montclair State University who teaches first year composition courses. She has an M.A. in English and a J.D. in Law. She uses practical approaches to solve teaching problems and enjoys helping faculty develop courses, assignments, and options for classrooms. Christine brings varied experience as a former practicing lawyer, a public interest issues and campaign advocate, and a professional writer creating advertising content to her work. Her experience as a meditation teacher also helps her to stay focused and practice reflection, awareness, and compassion in the classroom. She enjoys connecting with her roots as a poet and storyteller by writing with an ongoing Amherst Writers and Artists method group, which recognizes every person is a writer, deserving a safe environment in which to experiment, learn, and develop.
