Profile
Madison Kranis (she/her/hers) serves as the Program Assistant at the Global Center on Human Trafficking and supports various departments within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at Montclair State University. Madison is deeply committed to advocating for human rights and has been involved with anti-trafficking organizations for several years.
She transferred to Montclair State University as a Justice Studies student in September 2018, taking courses in Human Trafficking, International Justice, and Migration. During the pandemic, Madison pursued her MA in Human Trafficking, Organized Crime, and Migration at St. Mary’s University, Twickenham in London, UK. While in London, she successfully combined her passion for human rights with her childhood dream of working in fashion, gaining experience in both non-profit and corporate sectors. Her dedication to preventing labor trafficking within the supply chain is evident in her conversations, and she was recently featured on a podcast about Conscious Consumerism.
For nearly a decade, Madison has coached cheerleading for various organizations, including her community college. She enjoys teaching athletes of all ages strong foundational skills that allow them to advance their abilities and take pride in their achievements. Madison believes in the importance of having a ‘home away from home’ and sees the cheer gyms as a space for athletes to create a sense of belonging, just as it was for her. Additionally, Madison considers herself an environmentalist. In her spare time, she is often researching ways for companies to become more sustainable.
Madison is excited to continue supporting the Global Center on Human Trafficking and other departments with their projects, using her expertise to drive meaningful change and impact.
Specialization
Madison's experience lies within Responsible Business, she recently featured in a podcast discussing the increase of consumer awareness around supply chains and labor practices and how this is applying pressure on businesses to ensure they are prioritizing ethical practices
