Dr. Tom Killian is an Assistant Professor of Counseling in the Department of Counseling within the College for Community Health. He earned his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, with a minor in Applied Statistics and Research Methods, from the University of Northern Colorado. He also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi.
Dr. Killian is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with diagnostic privilege (LMHC-D) in New York, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, and a Board-Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). He brings over a decade of clinical experience across diverse settings, including university counseling centers, a collegiate athletic department, and a residential treatment facility. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Killian maintains a private practice in Montclair, New Jersey.
