Profile

Dr. Tina Huesing moved to Montclair from Munich, Germany, where she worked as assistant professor at the Munich campus of a business school based in the Netherlands. She has also taught in New Zealand, India and China. Her courses have included international human resource management, sociology, and corporate sustainability.

Dr. Huesing received her PhD from Benedictine University in Illinois. In her research she investigated the nature of global managers’ work, bringing Henry Mintzberg’s seminal study from 1973 into the 21st century. She also holds an MBA from Thunderbird in Arizona and spent a year in Texas at UT Austin on a Fulbright scholarship.

Dr. Huesing's research interest is focused on leadership as a work practice and the changing role of business, be it related to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or looking at the role of communities as stakeholders. She was selected as a 2023-24 CETL Fellow in the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships at Montclair. She wants to work on strengthening the ties between the business school and the communities we are a part of.

Dr. Huesing also comes with industry experience. The last corporate job she held was as director of External Six Sigma Services for Europe, Middle East and Africa for a large multinational telecom company. She owns a networked consulting company that specializes in helping organizations grow their organizational maturity using the six sigma methodology.
