Profile

My writing and teaching focus on 20th and 21st century American literature, particularly the novel. I am most interested in how literary forms and narratives relate to economic, political, and social concerns in the era texts appear within. My project focuses on post-Cold War novelists and the forces of neoliberal ideology, and I'm in the midst of some very early research into how postmodern storytelling's narration habits influence post-1990 fiction. I have published articles in "Critique," "Mosaic," and "College Literature," "The Journal of American Studies," and "Journal of Narrative Theory." In addition, I wrote a chapter that appeared in the"Palgrave Handbooks on Twentieth and Twenty-First Century Literature and Science."
