When NJBIZ launched its first-ever Reader Rankings awards in July, thousands of readers voted to rate the best of the best in New Jersey in everything from health care to higher education.
Montclair State’s Feliciano School of Business scored high marks for its Accounting and MBA programs with NJBIZ readers. Both placed in the top three out of 25 New Jersey schools.
“We are proud to receive these awards,” says Feliciano School of Business Dean Greg Cant. “The NJBIZ Reader Rankings acknowledge the success of our relentless dedication to transforming today’s students into tomorrow’s business leaders.”
“We are grateful for this endorsement and support,” says Accounting and Finance Department Acting Co-Chair Ronald Strauss. “Our commitment and focus is to prepare our students to meet the highest standards of the global accounting profession. The NJBIZ validation is an inspiration to our faculty and students.”
According to Strauss, in recent years the department has introduced a number of program changes designed to enhance its graduates’ professional success. “First and foremost, we now offer an accounting major, which has been complemented by a five-year BS/MS accounting program that offers increased course flexibility – including the opportunity to earn a forensic accounting certificate within the MS in Accounting degree,” he explains. “These initiatives reflect the dedication of our faculty, all of whom are CPAs and/or PhDs.”
Feliciano School of Business MBA Director Nicole Koppel is also delighted with the award. “We are very proud to be recognized for our top-quality MBA programs that meet the needs of today’s business professionals,” she says.
The School offers students – many of whom are working professionals – convenient and flexible MBA weeknight, online, hybrid and executive program delivery options. Numerous concentrations, in everything from business analytics and digital marketing to project management and human resource management, give students the tools and knowledge they need to advance their careers and compete successfully in an increasingly global marketplace.
“Our flexible MBA programs are designed to develop our students’ talents, skills and global exposure through engagements with the business community, outstanding research and internship opportunities, and a nine-to-ten-day international capstone experience that explores the challenges and potential of global economies,” says Koppel.
The School, which also offers undergraduate concentrations in Finance; Hospitality Management; Marketing; Real Estate; International Business; and Sports, Events and Tourism Marketing; as well as a BA in Economics degree, is home to the innovative Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship, which provides students from across the University with real-life entrepreneurial experience.
